Join us in welcoming Rachel O'Holla to the Motion Connected team!

Where do you call home?

"I am originally from New Jersey, but I have lived in Delaware, California, Virginia, and now I call North Carolina home."

What piqued your interest in a wellness career?

"I went to University of Delaware and majored in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Behavior Management.

Growing up I was always active and involved in sports and exercise. On a personal level, I have always been interested in staying healthy and in shape. When I was exploring my options for college majors I stumbled on the health and exercise program and knew it was something I wanted to pursue further. Once I was in the program, I became most interested in the science behind behavior change and what motivates us to stay healthy and keep active.

My internship in college was with Health Fitness Corporation at Johnson & Johnson. There I realized my passion for Corporate Wellness and Health Promotion."

In your opinion and experience, why should any organization implement a wellness program?

"The benefits of an employee wellness program run deep. Usually, an employer’s first thought is, “this will help decrease my claims and insurance premiums.” But it is so much more than that! It impacts employee retention, productivity, and is an overall morale booster. Knowing that your employer cares about your overall health and wellbeing is an outstanding feeling!"

What makes Motion Connected different than other wellness programs?

"The Motion Connected program is so easy to set up, launch, and use to start promoting wellness to your employees. As a former Wellness Director of a client of Motion Connected, I can attest to the easiness of introducing a wellness program at your company. Whether you have 100 or 100,000 employees, Motion Connected will be there for you along to way, and will ensure your program is successful year after year."

How do you personally integrate wellness into your own life?

"I am one of those weird people who actually LOVES working out. My favorite type of workout is High Intensity Interval training. I also love to walk, run, bike, and swim. I am an avid user of my Fitbit device, tracking my steps, sleep, food, heart rate zones, etc..."
