Engaging employees in today’s dynamic work environment requires a shift from conventional methods to more inclusive strategies.

The journey towards a healthier, more engaged workforce is both a challenge and an opportunity. Engaging employees in today’s dynamic work environment requires a shift from conventional methods to more inclusive strategies. This is one of the many topics Haley Prophet, dived into during our recent Building a Great Company Culture Webinar Series.

Support employee wellbeing through collaborative efforts

One key area Haley hit on during our discussion was the focus on a more collaborative effort between leadership and employees.

Her suggestion was to encourage open dialogue, shared responsibility, and collective action towards creating a work environment that supports well-being.

At the core of it, the business, it’s leaders, and its owners, must be willing to have a seat at the table with its employees when talking about and reimagining what the employee experience can look like. This paradigm shift towards a more collaborative mindset helps in identifying and addressing workplace challenges effectively, paving the way for a more resilient and adaptable organization.

Generate important dialogue around wellness in the workplace

Haley used the phrase, “Name it to tame it”, when talking to Amanda, to describe the effect of using the correct language to generate important dialogue around wellness in the workplace. This dialogue can then help codify wellness and wellbeing into the employee handbook, leadership training, and company policies, which will incorporate employee wellness into a more common topic of conversation in the workplace.

Set up feedback methods to truly listen to employees

Furthermore, Haley highlights the significance of fostering a sense of ownership among employees over their work and the culture of their workplace. This involves offering multiple outlets for employees to voice their needs, to share wellness initiative feedback, and to have a hand in helping to create the policies that affect their well-being.

This method of listening to learn can help to positively disrupt the norm of an organization by helping to build a better and brighter workplace for both the company’s leadership and its employees.
